DRIVE KIT FOR BIG TWIN
 These
kits are truly a custom builders delight.
Manufactured by Belt Drives Limited
(BDL) for unsurpassed quality in the
motorcycle industry. They contain
our race proven clutch pack (which
features BARNETT KEVLAR® fiber
plates and round dog steel plates)
and our special aluminum pressure
plate with coil springs and shoulder
bolts. Our one piece, CNC machined
billet aluminum motor plate features
a double row sealed bearing for maximum
strength on the mainshaft. The starter
ring gear pocket is recessed into
the plate and the starter housing
is designed to cover most of the open
area of the gear. To further enhance
the appearance, a polished aluminum
cover is included that fits behind
the front pulley and camouflages the
stator. A side guard is held in place
with hex stand-offs and button head
allens. We also include a special
starter gear. The 4 speed kit is designed
for use with ratchet top transmission,
1991/Later starter motor and a 1979/Later
4 speed clutch release arm 44208.
Simple modifications will have to
be made to the clutch release arm
and a small cut out of the oil tank
bracket will be needed for starter
motor clearance on FX models. Includes
instructions. Softail kits include
a two piece front pulley consisting
of a 3" wide pulley and a splined
steel insert. By replacing the included
insert with a longer one, along with
the corresponding alternator mount
and offset transmission mounting plate,
you can install these belt drive kits
on frames designed for wide tire applications.
